Playdate out in the country

Last week we were able to go play with our little friend, Joshua. They live "out", as opposed to those of us who live "in town". My kiddos (minus Elisabeth, who was spending her day with Laoli) had a ball at their house!

The kids couldn't wait to run down the dirt road to the pond.

What would we do at the pond?

Throw stuff into it...of course!

Collecting sticks and rocks

Joshua' little shadow, er, brother, Kellen

Joshua's mama, Kami, whom I'm blessed to call "friend", is every bit as beautiful on the inside as she is on the out. And Lily Kay alreadys loves her...

...just like Elisabeth did right from the start.

I'd just received my fancy schmancy new (to me) camera a couple days previous, so I had fun practicing with it while we were playing.

I love this picture...

At first glance, this looks like my Daniel meandering down a beautiful country dirt road with his Sunday School buddy, Joshua.

But what **I** see is one precious boy who spent his first 31 months in an orphanage in China...walking next to his buddy, who spent his first 22 months in an orphanage in Russia.

It is precious to me that after working on Daniel and Joshua's adoption processes at the same time, the boys came home within 2 months of each other (3 years ago), and now are buddies.

All because the Lord laid adoption on the hearts of two couples - and they obeyed - these boys now live in families (surrounded by big extended families) that love them more than anything. in. the. world.

  1. Nice pictures! Also, like the new one of the four kids in the lawn chairs. On a side note, I did not know that Joshua was adopted. Awesome! So many, kind, caring and inspiring families in our homeschool group!

  2. Joli, what unforeseen blessings come from adoption!! It always blesses me.

And, for the record, I, too, love the new header picture.
