It's been a while since our children have added any new words to our family dictionary.
But LK broke the dry spell...and this is a good one. A very useful new word for our family. She used this new word for the first time about two weeks ago...and we have used this at least once a day - and sometimes many more - since then. Yes, we have many opportunities to use this word here at our house...
Pig-Hogger - n.
someone who ingests an unusually large amount of food
Origins of the word:
Jas really likes the Chai Spiced Muffins I recently began making. In fact, everyone really likes these Chai Spiced Muffins. When I made some a couple weeks ago, I froze the planned-overs with the idea that we'd eat them for breakfast sometime soon.
A few days later, I was rummaging around in the freezer trying to find the muffins to set them out for breakfast. I couldn't find them anywhere. Jas piped up - with a somewhat sheepish look on his face - to say that he hadn't realized that we were saving them, and he must have eaten all of them...one at a time, here and there, over the past few days.
Lily Kay burst out with the invective, "Daddy, you're a Pig-Hogger!"
And thankfully she had a smile on her face, otherwise she just might have gotten in trouble for that.

Ummm, excuse me ma'am, I believe you have at least one more story about someone in you household who's been dubbed a pig-hogger. Do you have any idea who that might be? Hmmmmm? Love you! ;)
