Officially

We have 39.5 hours until we officially start moving stuff on Saturday morning.

Except, well, we've been moving stuff for a couple of weeks now.  And Marissa and Steven are coming Friday afternoon to help for a while, since they can't make it on Saturday morning.

We officially have a hot mess on our hands here at the old house now.

I haven't decided if I think it is easier to move 5 miles away...or across the country.  I thought this would be easier...but in some ways it was actually easier to just go ahead and pack everything up and move all in one fell swoop from Colorado to the deep south.

I had to keep telling Elisabeth (and later Noah) to stop reading the paper, and keep using it to wrap up stuff!

We have officially been getting too little sleep around here lately.

Jas has stayed until 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. (!!!) on several different nights to get stuff done at the new house.  I don't have many pictures of the laundry room process, because I wasn't there until 1 a.m. with him (his bud from work, Tony, was with him though, thankfully - Tony was more helpful than I would have been anyway).  Jas hung the drywall, taped, mudded, sanded, mudded, sanded, primed, textured.  He did a great job!  I got to come in and do the fun part: paint it beautiful "Peaceful Meadow"!

I also painted the eat-in part of the kitchen over the past couple of days:

My friend Leah came and kept me company while I was painting bricks (ugh!) until 11 p.m. last night.  It was much more fun and seemed to go quicker after Leah showed up...imagine that!

Random shots from this morning....

I took a picture of how I had these 10 pictures arranged on the shelves.  It took me way too long to get this arranged just how I like it...and I didn't want to re-invent the wheel when we get it all to the other house!

LK really got into (haha!) her job of packing up this large corner cabinet.

Yes, my "white" cabinets are not-so-white in places right now...don't judge me.

Gabriel found - much to his delight - Jas' stash of hats that was ready to be packed.

Mr. G loves hats.

Let me try that again:  Mr. G LOVES HATS!!!

If you come up to Gabriel and you're wearing a hat (or glasses for that matter)...he may, ummmm.... request them from you.

The buzzer just went off that rest-time is over...back to packing!
