Christmas 2010

I spoke too soon here when I said I was starting to feel better.

I have not been sick like this in a L O N G time (thankfully). It has been two steps forward, one step back.

AND my family has had lots of not-so-good stuff going on lately...and it spilled over into Christmas, causing lots of "firsts", some good...some not-so-good.

And yet...

None of this affected the children....and who could NOT have a wonderful, worshipful Christmas with these four crazy monkeys???

We celebrated Jesus and His miraculous birth.

We sang "Happy Birthday" to Him and ate cake decorated by our very artistic Elisabeth.

I think she did a fabulous job. Very mod.

Every previous year we've given the children three presents each, to represent the three gifts that baby Jesus received.

But this year we made an exception. We got them one big present, ALL together.

We told them to put their shoes and jackets on (over their jammies)....and then had them read a letter...

...that led them on a wild-goose chase all over the house and then the front yard...

...and back yard....

...where they found their new TRAMPOLINE!!!

To say they were excited would be a complete. understatement.

They have already spent hours on this thing. I told Jas I wish we had a clock that would just keep a running total of the hours that they spend on this thing in the coming years. My best guess is that it will end up somewhere in the "Jillion Jillions" (to quote Daniel).

  2. I'm so sorry you have been so sick...and all the other not-so-fun-things going on. It is good to see there were some good moments of celebration and fun through it all though. Saying some prayers the New Year's holiday finds you feeling better. God bless, Jennifer
