How We Celebrated Noah's 5th Anniversary

Our Celebrations for Noah's Adoption Day actually started the day before his adoption day.

On Saturday, he got to choose where our family went out to lunch to celebrate him.

He chose the exact same place that Elisabeth chose when we celebrated her 6th Adoption Day back in August.

Yes, we all love this place!

Then, the rest of the Noah Day festivities took place on his actual Adoption Day on Sunday.

First, he got to open a gift that we bought him in China during Lily Kay's recent trip.

Does he know what it is???

A chess set!

This little boy-man - who is 6 going on 36 - has begun to be very interested in chess.

This set has precious little chess pieces.

And then you flip it over to play.

And when you're done, you store the pieces back inside and close it up!

Needless to say, he loves it!

(Now, maybe he can teach me how to play chess!)

And then Noah got to choose what we had for breakfast on his special day.

It didn't take him long to decide that he wanted Breakfast Cookies...and then he could hardly wait to chow down! (I talked about them here a few months ago.)

Then, Noah, Elisabeth, Daniel and I headed to Sunday School and Church. (Lily Kay stayed home with daddy to rest.)

Noah and I discussed this yesterday - on one hand it seems like he's been a part of our family for much longer than 5 years...and on the other hand, it seems like just yesterday that I held that precious little 20-month old for the first time.

We're so thankful for our 5 years with this amazing boy...we are truly blessed.

  1. Happy Anniversary Noah (and the whole family!). What an awesome blessing!
Also, good choice on the restaurant - Arin loves going there because it is the only time that she gets a "red drink"!
