Daniel is the Big Seven!

Daniel Daniel Bo Baniel turned seven on Friday.

Yes, our little Daniel Crocket.

Whatever we happen to call him at the moment...he has gone and turned 7. And I cannot even believe it. What happened to the rascally little 2 year-old we just adopted?!?!? He's now a rascally 7-year old!

Daniel got to start out his big day by going out to breakfast with Daddy. (It happened to be his turn to do "Friday Breakfast with Daddy", anyway, so that worked out nice!)

And by the time they got back from breakfast all the rest of the children were up, so Daniel could now open presents!

From Noah he received...

a very big card...

...and a hand-me-down jet. He loved both of these!

And from Mama and Daddy?

Stilts!

No, he'd never asked for them before and I don't know for sure if he even knew what they were...but they are a big hit! (Score one for mama!)

And it was amazing to watch him go from, well...not proficient...

to pretty darn good in less than 30 minutes on those things!

We get together with our homeschool group every Friday, and the stilts came with us on Friday and were a big hit with all the children.

We also brought cupcakes and shared them with all our friends...after they sang "Happy Birthday", of course!

Daniel and his "best buddy", Riley - my friend Kris' youngest son.

Then, in the afternoon Laolao and Papa came over after the children (and mama's!) rest-time. They had a camo watch for Daniel (who has recently learned to tell time in his math curriculum).

Also, Papa gave Daniel $35 and a promise to personally take him to Wally world next week so he can spend it. (This has become a much-loved tradition that my dad has with our children!)

And Daniel got to pick our supper on Friday night. So instead of our traditional Friday-night homemade pizza, we had...

"Orange" Mac-n-Cheese (which means store-bought box mac-n-cheese - which the children LOVE - instead of our normal homemade kind)

What our Friday lacked in nutrition...it made up for in FUN!
