Colds?

My Noah Buddy woke up Saturday morning very, um...not himself.

He didn't have a fever (yet), but his eyes were glassy, and he was simply not feeling good (which at first just manifest itself as him not behaving good).

He laid around all morning...which he would simply not be capable of doing in his normal state.

And then during afternoon rest time he actually slept (he normally just reads the whole time)...in my bed. (I got an excellent nap too, btw.)

After nap he did run a low-grade fever for a while...and he even threw up at one point.

In our bed.

And I tried to catch it all.

I did not catch it all.

(I've heard about moms trying to catch their children's vomit, but I never thought in a million years that I would ever have a reflex to do that.)

Moving on...

I'm serious about not wanting us to be sick for months on end this fall/winter.

We're faithfully neti-potting, and it has kept the seasonal allergies from causing problems for the past couple of months...but this was not allergies anymore.

A cold, I guess? I even feared it might be the flu.

I decided to attack it. I made up this concoction that I just read about days before:

You don't want to know what it's made of.

It might - or might not - be the reason Noah threw up in the first place.

BUT, he is much better today. His nose is still running, and he's coughing some, so we stayed home from church...but it is obvious he is feeling better today. In fact, as he went running through the kitchen, spouting off this morning, Jas and I looked at each other and simultaneously said, "He is feeling better today."

And now LK and Daniel both sound nasal also...it's a good thing I still have some of my concoction left in the fridge...

  3. Hum....now I'm thinking. Not only do I have to find a graceful way to decline the smoothies if I ever visit; but I need to make darn sure I'm not sick! I would throw up ALSO if I had to drink that!!! You are TOO funny. Thinking you spent a wee bit too much time in Boulder back in the day :)
