Expecting

As much as I might like to say that it is our family that is expecting an addition...alas, it is only one of our two cows, Bobbie.

I wanted to snap some pictures of Bobbie in all her glory when I went out to milk Jenny on my weekly turn this past Thursday (we haven't milked Bobbie for a while now, since she is nearing the end of her pregnancy).

I was trying to get a good picture of her ever-expanding belly...she was very interested in the camera:

Reaching the flies near your rear is quite an accomplishment when you're this big!

Here is a pretty good picture showing how wide Bobbie's belly has become....

...especially when you compare it to Jenny's relatively sleek belly (sorry for the rear view...she wasn't cooperating!)

(Hopefully Jenny's recent AI took and her belly won't be sleek for much longer!)

Bobbie is due in about 4-6 weeks...can't wait to see her new baby!

  1. Ok, so what does that mean for milk if they both have babies? And, what will ya'll do with the babies? And, we really want to visit your farm! Please let us tag along one Thursday morning. :)

  2. Yes, we have to try to stagger their babies...so we dont' have two dry cows at once! When Jenny had a baby back in February, we kept him for about 2 months (or 3?) and then sold him at the auction. And do you want to visit papa's farm, where we might move? OR the farm where the cows live? Either way...we'd love to have you and the kiddos, Sabrina! Anytime!
