Transtelephonic

Transtelephonic transmissions.

A couple of years ago I had no idea what that meant...and then Noah had his pacemaker implanted.

It's very simple really.

trans-
1. Across; on the other side; beyond
2. Through

tel-e-phon-ic
1. Of or relating to telephones
2. Transmitted or conveyed by telephone

Just like it sounds...

Once a quarter, we take this machine...

...and hold it up to the pacemaker in Noah's sweet little abdomen...

and then the information travels through the phone lines to Noah's Electro-Physiologists' office.

Voila!

I think this is absolutely brilliant...and fabulous!

It doesn't hurt at all...or take very long...and I think he enjoys the attention. Which is good, because nothing happens in this house without quite an audience.

Lily Kay was so impressed with the happenings, that she broke out in dance.

I then call Noah's Electro-physiologists office, to make sure they received the transmission...and more importantly, that everything in the transmission looked good. (The electro-physiologist is the Electrician, as opposed to Noah's cardiologist, who is the Plumber. These little names are supposed to make it easier for kids to understand...but this mom find it helpful also!)

I love that we can send this information so easily over the phone, make sure that everything is working correctly...and only have to drive to the Doctor's office (a 3-hour round trip) once a year!
