We fellowshipped, and ate together, and then the children took turns presenting something.
Elisabeth sang/recited the names of the books of the bible - yes, all 66 of them! She did great! She had been having trouble earlier in the day, going straight from 1st and 2nd Thessalonians straight to 1 John...but she did it right during her presentation! Way to go, Elisabeth!
And my Noah sang/recited 2 little ditties we learned on our Math-U-See CD. He sang the songs about Skip counting #2 and #3.
A sampling from #3 (sung to the tune of Jingle Bells):
3,6,9
12, 15
18, 21
24 and 27
Isn't counting fun?
3,6,9
12, 15
18, 21
24 and 27
30 and you're done!
Daniel he had three friends
They would not compromise
When everyone should bow
They looked unto the skies
Neb threw them in the fire
They did not feel the heat
Instead they met the Son of God
and worshipped at His feet.
Oh, 3, 6, 9...
Elisabeth was not scared to get up there, but Noah was...and he did it anyway, and he did great! I was so proud of him!
It finally occurred to me on the morning of the party that Lily Kay is able to sing her ABCs and that she could do that (if she would).
Although she acted shy throughout, she did it and was very pleased with herself! I'm SO glad to have that on video, to show what a big girl she was when she'd only been home for 11.5 weeks!
While Daniel doesn't mind getting up there in a group, he hasn't been quite ready to go solo yet. Hopefully he will make his solo debut next year.
BUT, at the end, all the children came back together and sang a cute song for us: You've Got a Friend in Me (from Toy Story)
And I can't help but include this picture I snapped of our cute daddy...red is your color, Jas!
The Lord has absolutely blessed us with a great group of families right around us that also homeschool. We know the Lord has called us to educate our children at home - and He could/would equip us to do that all by ourself if we were the only ones around here doing that. But we are so thankful that He's given us these to accompany us on our homeschooling journey!
Way to go all of you. What a great teacher you are Joli
