CNY 2010

We were able to attend a Chinese New Year party this past weekend, hosted by a Families With Children from China (FCC) group. This makes the 8th year in a row that we've attended a CNY party (yes, we started before we even had any of our children!).

But this year we got an extra treat - a party before the party! We headed on down to the town where the party was to be, and met up with some dear friends first. We met the S family at a Chick-fil-A and had a ball (except when Zibing threw up - greasy french fries were the culprit again).

We then went and played at their house, took naps, got dolled up in our traditional Chinese clothes and headed to the 2nd party.

We attended the party with some dear friends from our hometown, the M family, as we have each of the past 8 years.

There were crafts...

...and Chinese food (with some mac-n-cheese thrown in for picky eaters)...

...and dance performances, and the ever-popular finale - The Lion Dance!

Zibing was very shy when we first entered this banquet room of over 300 people (can't blame her - I get kinda overwhelmed in situations like that too!). But by the end of the evening she was all smiles.

A good time was had by all!

AND, much to our children's delight, we stayed down in this town at a hotel (or "who-tel", according to our children).

So, how do you fit 6 people in two double beds???

Our smart daddy came up with this brilliant idea:

They slept sideways on one of the beds! They loved it!
