We hit a new milestone on Friday.
We are no longer in totally uncharted territory.
Gabriel was our first newborn. Until Mr. G came home, Elisabeth was the youngest child we'd ever had...
...and she was five days shy of 14 months on the day we first held her.
Despite being about 7 pounds more than Elisabeth at that same point, and the fact that E hadn't yet learned to crawl when we first met her, Mr. G seems younger than Elisabeth did. Maybe it's because she was so serious (especially the first few days). Maybe it's because her thinner face (and body) was less babyish-looking.
(BTW - the "hard" part is because of my stress-case personality...the times when I worry and try to figure things out in my own wisdom instead of continuously leaning into the Lord for HIS wisdom.)
I do know that I am a different mama than I was to my first 14-month old, 8.5 years ago...
Hey, this post featured two of my favorite children in the world! And so many adorable dimples.
ReplyDeleteAnd you are one of their favorite adults in the world!
DeleteMy younger kids, both bio and adopted have gotten a very different mother than my eldest two did. It's a long process, this becoming a mom thing. Can't wait to see who your next little life changer will be.
ReplyDeleteYes, goodness, it IS a process, isn't it Shecki Grtlyblesd? I would much rather be there already, have all this totally figured out...but it just doesn't work that way. (sigh) We are excited about our next little "life changer" also!
DeleteAhh, what amazing pictures, all of them! So incredibly thankful, as I know you are, Mr. G has been with you all this time!! It's funny, but E looks so much older holding him, especially in that first picture. Hugs to all and a big "neck nuzzle" to Mr. G!
ReplyDeleteShe DOES look older! When did that happen?!?!?
DeleteMissing our S family...need some time with y'all. SOON!
Elisabeth, You are such a great big sister!! I'm sure your siblings keep you plenty busy!!! Blessings, Jennifer
