Adoption

November is National Adoption Month...and yesterday was Orphan Awareness Sunday in churches all over this country.

I stayed home from church yesterday morning with my girly Elisabeth, who was decidedly under-the-weather.

I wouldn't have not been at home with Elisabeth for anything...but I sure hated to miss our church's special service.  In addition to our pastor (who is an adoptive father himself) sharing his heart, our dear friends Hank and Anna shared their testimony of how the Lord has worked through adding two daughters from China to their family that already included three biological sons.

And our church also got to see this video.  Powerful stuff...

Most days I don't give one single thought to the fact that my children were adopted.  They are simply my precious children.

I truly can't stand to think how things would be different if Jas and I had not heeded God's call to care for orphans: how things would be different for our five precious children...how things would be different for Jas and I.

Thank you, Lord, for Your abundant blessings.  Thank you that You have adopted us into as Your precious children.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.  (James 1:27)

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matt. 25:40)
