Speech Therapy

We are starting speech therapy with Mrs. Vicki again.

Vicki's two 4-year olds have been home for 6 months...

...and Gabriel has been home for 4+ months....so all of our lives have settled back down.

Well, as much as lives with 8 children are ever going to settle down.

Vicki administered another round of Goldman Fristoe Articulation Tests to Noah...

...and Daniel...AND...

...to Lily Kay!

Because - at over 2 years home now - LK still sounds like a Chinese-speaking person learning to speak English.

It's really cute sounding...but it's time to get serious about working on that.

I wish this picture could adequately convey how very busy Lily Kay was as she was "sitting" here during her evaluation.

The Lord has so blessed us through Vicki and her family.  Vicki is one of my very dearest friends.  And then, she goes and so generously uses her skills to help my children.  None of my three children are having major issues - and they wouldn't qualify to receive services with any other speech therapist.  BUT, Vicki and I both know that they need a little help...and so she wants to help.

The plan is to hit it hard this summer...doing speech twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

But, OH, what a drag speech is.  We just hate doing speech so much...as all these photos will prove.

We take turns on where we do speech, one time at my house, another time at Vicki's house.  Gabriel and I play with whoever is not currently "doing speech" with Mrs. Vicki.

Will and Gabriel bonding during some tummy-time.
After we did speech this past Thursday, we had some other serious business to attend to.

Playing.

Talking with Vicki.

Picnic lunch.

Lounging around.

Talking with Vicki some more.

Swimming.

Talking with Vicki some more.

Eating ice cream.

Can I just tell you how very badly Elisabeth wants another sister.  Jas, are you listening?  Jas?

Jumping.

Jumping very high.

Do all speech therapy sessions last 5 1/2 hours?

And do all speech therapy sessions wear you slap out?
