Gabriel's Growth

Mr. Gabriel is 10 weeks old today. It is so amazing to watch him grow and change before our very eyes. He has begun outgrowing his newborn clothes, but is not quite filling out his 0-3 month clothes...which makes for some funny getups!

He is consistently at 25th percentile for height and weight on the growth charts. When I took him to his 2-month well-child appointment earlier this week, he was knocking on 11 pounds.

He is sometimes awake for almost 1/2 the time during the day. His favorite places (well, after the moby wrap) are on his back on a blanket on the floor, or in the pink bouncy seat, right in the thick of the action. He is usually surrounded by 4...or 5...or 6 smiling faces. He doesn't disappoint...as his cooing and squeals and smiles keep us all coming back for more!

Way back 100 years ago when we lived in Colorado, our friends Kristin and John were our first close friends to have a baby. And they did something I thought was so neat: every month when Bennett turned a month older, they would take her picture next to the same stuffed animal, to show Bennett's growth.

Now that we have our own little babe, I intend to do the same thing.

Here is Mr. Gabriel at one-month old:

Here he is at 2-months old:

Why is the elephant leaning to his left?

Well, it took us quite a few takes to get a good picture, and Gabriel's balance is not so good yet...he veered off over onto the elephant more than once!
