I love it!
I love looking at it every time we back out of the driveway.
And I love looking at it every time we arrive back home.
It is definitley that time of year again...so the 6 of us headed outside as soon as we had finished breakfast on Saturday morning.
This is what we had to show for our efforts:
But this job that should take, oh...about 30 minutes, took us, oh...about 2.5 hours.
How is that possible?
Oh, anything is possible when you have one occasionally ADD husband and 4 little "helpers"!
First, before we even really got started on the porch, Jas decided that a root of one of the many pine trees in our front yard just had to be dealt with.
Right now.
Never mind that it has been there poking through the grass the entire 7.5 years that we've lived in this house...
But they got it taken care of...and had a great time doing it!
So, Jas was finally able to actually start on the front porch.
Elisabeth helped him.
Very closely.
Where were the other 3?
They had so much fun with the root extrication that they decided to tackle another one.
Just for the record: they were not able to extricate this root all by themselves.
But they had fun trying...and it kept them happily occupied for a while!
Back to Jas...
Why is he smiling like the cat that ate the canary?
What is that he's holding?
That would be a very fun boy-toy, homemade none-the-less: his potato gun that I wrote about here.
But this time, Jas was using the potato gun to help get rid of the pumpkins that had been decorating the front of our house until the Christmas decorating began.
These little pumpkins came to a very violent end.
I LOVE it! The decorations are beautiful!! I have to admit though, that little piece of me that loved hunting is just fascinated with the "family punkin chunkin!!" Jason may have to come do a how-to so we can all have a little fun out back "chunkin" something before Chinese New Year!
ReplyDeleteLove to you all!
