"Our" Swimming Pool

The six of us went swimming a couple of evenings ago. We had just gotten home from this wonderful outside wedding, and it was H O T outside.

But, I only ended up staying in for a few minutes. Even though it's only early September...the water felt downright cold to me!

Jas and the kids were fine...but mama had to get out. I watched the rest of the pool play-session from the chair...wrapped up in a big beach towel!

The children will likely swim several times more...but the 2010 Swimming Season is definitely nearing its end.

But we love "our" swimming pool and will miss it greatly over the long fall and winter...and will be so happy to jump back into it come next spring/summer!

Can you see our beautiful swimming pool in this picture of our backyard?

No?

Let me get a little closer.

Still can't see it?

Let me zoom in a little closer

You can at least see the entrance to it now, can't you?

See, "our" swimming pool isn't actually - technically - located in our backyard...

It's located in our precious neighbors' backyard!

And I don't know if you can tell by the figures flying through this picture below...

but we love this pool.

Almost as much as we love the owners of this pool - Mrs. Lynn and Mr. Robbie.

We've known Mrs. Lynn and Mr. Robbie since before we had children...but they just became our backdoor neighbors about 3 years ago. They have an empty nest now...and very big hearts.

The first summer they were in the house, they told us to come swim whenever we wanted to. The next summer, they made sure we knew they were serious by creating this Secret Garden Entrance (complete with a beautiful arbor and a paved pathway) from our backyard into theirs, right through all the little trees and bushes!

They did it secretly...sneakily. O.k. Jas knew they were building it...but I had the wool pooled over my eyes.

When I found out...I cried!

Now when Mrs. Lynn says "Mi poola, es su poola"...we take her seriously!

Thank you - and we love you, Mrs. Lynn and Mr. Robbie!

  1. What sweet neighbors!
We've been enjoying swimming a lot this summer too and not looking forward to the end of the season.
