Annual Electrophysiology Appointment

Once a quarter, we get to send Transtelephonic readings from Noah's pacemaker to his Electrophysiologist.

But, they actually want to see our little guy in the flesh once a year.

And it was that time of year again.

Thursday, the kiddos and I loaded up and headed down to our EP's office. (The EP's office is 1.5 hours away. Living in a small town, which I love, means that we have quite a drive to get anywhere, which I don't love...but it's worth it to live in a small town.)

I think it actually helped Noah that all of his siblings were there with us.

He was the star!

Noah used to dislike EKGs. Strongly dislike. And he made sure that everyone in the building knew it.

The EKG itself does not hurt...but pulling off all those stickies apparently does hurt.

But Noah acted very big in front of his sibling this time...it helped that they were enthralled and were itching to use his stickies when he was done with them!

After the EKG, it was time to see Nurse Sharon and let her special machine "talk" to his pacemaker.

She runs tests on it, checks battery level , and prints read outs.

Lots of read outs.

And after waiting, and then testing, and then waiting, and then more testing...and then waiting some more, the EP came in and said "He looks good...see you next year!"

And seven short hours after we pulled out of the driveway, we arrived back home - right in the middle of naptime.

My chidren did not wait until we got home to start naps. I had a very quiet trip home.
