Noah and cars

Noah has had a love affair with cars for a long time.

A long...long time.

His desire to line cars up might give pause to any other mama that was not so OCD herself.

This boy has been able to name the make of a car at 100 paces since he was 3.

When we see familiar cars around town, he can tell you if they really belong to someone we know, by looking at the wheels. As in "No, that is not Aunt Marty's car because her wheels look like blah, blah instead of blah, blah."

We're sure he's going to find his life's work somewhere in the Automotive industry.

To that end, over the years we've bought him gifts like this ZoobMobile Car Designer kit...

...and this Melissa & Doug Parking Garage...

...and this ArtLab Car Designer Studio...

So that he will stop appropriating our Math-U-See manipulatives and using them to construct parking garages!

And so that his beloved blue blankie can stop playing "parking lot"...and go back to just being his beloved, blue blankie!

When Noah recently had a hey day with his cars and chalk in our driveway, it came as no surprise.

What did surprise me, however, was some of the details he threw in there:

They each have their own color-coded parking spot.

Notice how he changed the solid line from one side of the dotted middle line to the other side...so that the cars have to take turns on who is allowed to pass:

Look out Detroit!

  2. I think he will also take really good care of the car he gets. Maybe he will design a new car.
