Zibing's Dedication

On Sunday, we had the absolute privilege of dedicating Lily Kay Zibing to the Lord, before our church family.

Our dear pastor, Brother Bill, gave us a copy of the covenant that we attested to and here are the beautiful words:

"Do you here this day recognize your child as a gift of God, and give heartfelt thanks for God’s blessing?" We do!

"Do you here this day dedicate your child to the Lord?" We do

"Do you here this day pledge as parents that you will bring up your child 'in the nuture and admonition of the Lord?' " We do

"Do you here this day promise to give your child every possible benefit of home, of school, of the church?" We do

"Do you here this day ask God’s blessing upon her life, to guide, guard and direct her through all her years?" We do

Amen, amen...and amen.

We have dedicated each of our children to the Lord in this way. (And you can tell from the pictures below, that Nai Nai has been able to be here with us from Colorado each time - yay!)

We are truly grateful that we have this opportunity to raise these precious children to know and love the Lord.

On a less spiritual note:

Check out Zibing's beautiful dress!

A wonderful friend gave us this dress a few weeks before we left for China, and as soon as I saw it I knew what we would use it for.

Zibing loved it!

I held it up to her a few days before the dedication, and she kept eyeing it every day, until on Sunday I finally put it on her! She beamed a big, beautiful smile when we told her she was "piao liang" (pretty) and she ran and hopped in front of Elisabeth in the other room, and said "Kan!" (look!)

She was precious...and we're so glad she is ours!

  1. What a beautiful experience! I can't think of a better gift to give your child than to help them know Heavenly Father. I love all the things you promised to her during her dedication. Zibing looks beautiful in her white dress. We're doing something special with Max in our church in a few weeks too and then we're going to have a big party. It's so much fun isn't and so special.
