I mentioned in this post about the strawberries we picked that I was planning to use the ones I froze to make smoothies.
I lied.
Instead, we made these:
Popsicles!
And boy, did my kiddos think I was a hero for this! And it was so easy. I ended up making them several times over a week...the children were scarfing them down!
This is not an exact science, you could do this so many different ways, but here is one idea:
2 Bananas
2 cups strawberries
Blend up and freeze in popsicle molds
It's that easy. Or, one time when we made them, Elisabeth wanted to add some lemon juice, so she did. And they loved it that way too.
The kids ate them for "snack time" (which they have every afternoon right after they come out from R&R, reading and resting).
But their favorite time to eat them? With breakfast.
They were shocked when I let them do this...they thought it was the BIGGEST treat. SHHH! Don't remind them that it is straight fruit!
You SO cheated!! You were supposed to make jam and jelly and, like you said, smoothies! ;) Totally kidding 'cause I love the popsicle idea even better!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks for the idea!! I will be getting more a little later this week and I can't wait to try this!!
