We're going to a reunion of Elisabeth's China "sisters".
The famous "Red Couch" photo of our travel group, August 17, 2004These eleven precious girls all came from the same orphanage and are within just a couple months of each other in age (they've all just turned 7, with Miss Elisabeth pulling up the rear last month).
All of our families traveled together for 2 weeks back in August 2004, when we met and brought home our girls. We've done a good job of staying in contact, and this will be the 5th reunion that our group has had (it's the 4th that we've made). Six girls are planning to make it to this reunion.
The is the first time our family has taken an official "road trip." The longest trip we've ever taken by car is about 4 hours. The internet says it should take us just over 8 hours to get to our destination...not too bad. But we'll see what it actually turns out to be...
I'm not sure which thing my children are more excited about:
- playing with the China "sisters"
- visiting Dollywood
- staying at a HOTEL
