...and in about two seconds flat went from thinking we would never adopt a boy, or a child with special needs...to wanting very much to do both!
And now that precious little boy is not so little anymore...
...and he's gone and turned 9 on us.
Noah and I a lot of fun baking his "cupcakes" together (my kiddos love these muffins). And I'm counting on the fact that we made scratch "cupcakes" (where honey was the only sweetener) to counteract the fact...
...that we had (at N's requet) "boxed" mac-n-cheese, funyun rings and watermelon for his bday supper last night.
So what did the birthday boy want to do on the big day? Well, after he opened cards and gifts...
...the children and I headed on a little daytrip to a town about an hour away that holds our closest Petsmart.
Noah has been reading and researching for a while now...
...and checking books out of the library...and making notes......and he wants an aquarium with freshwater tropical fish in it.
|Yes, that is Chippyye and his blanket by his side...love that.|
So with his money, Noah purchased a 10-gallon tank (with the filter, thermometer, LED lights, etc.), and then picked out some gravel and some decorative accessories for the bottom of the tank.
And now Noah has everything he needs.
Well, everything that is, except the fish. Because this older-than-his-years boy readily agreed that it made more sense to hold off for a few weeks until we get into our new house before he actually buys the fish.
But he's ready!
